JAMMU: Ex-President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu (CCI), Y.V Sharma on Saturday categorically asserted that he shall not be taking part in the elections of CCI scheduled to be held on 5th March 2017.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Sharma clarified that he no longer wished to take part in the aforesaid elections. Sharma said that many of his well wishers approached him to Head the Chamber once again but denied the assertion on the ground that other experienced members of the Chamber should be given the opportunity to steer the CCI to new heights. He said that he has served the interests of the trade and industrial sector of Jammu to the best of his capacity, even during the period when there was political vacuum and the state was under Governor’s rule in nineties.
Sharma welcomed the decision of the present team of CCI Jammu for holding elections.
