DODA: Chairman, Democratic Azad Party Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday pledged to speed up the projects taken up in his capacity as Chief Minister after his party will get mandated to governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his last leg of the Chenab Valley tour, Azad, while addressing a public meeting at Khilani, said top priority will be accorded to the expeditious completion of these projects that were initiated for holistic development of all the regions and sub-regions. He regretted that these projects have been abandoned by the various successive governments after 2008. He also expressed concern over the abject neglect of the far-flung and rural areas and lackadaisical approach towards development of these disadvantageous pockets.
He also said that the unemployment is at its peak and no attention has been paid towards the problems of the labour class because the people at the helm were totally unaware of their difficulties.
He reiterated the stand of his party for grant of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest and constitutional guarantee over lands and jobs for the bonafide permanent residents only.
He further added that the return of land to those people will be ensured whose land has been taken by the authorities on flimsy grounds. They will be vested with ownership rights, he said.
“The agenda of my party is for the overall development of all regions and to strengthen the bonds of love and harmony between various segments of the society”, Azad maintained.
He also referred to the local problems brought to notice by the local leadership and the public of that area, saying that these will be taken up at appropriate levels for earnest redressal.
Earlier, Azad was taken in a mega rally by the thousands of people to the place of public meeting.
Azad was accompanied amongst others by GM Saroori, Abdul Majeed Wani and Jugal Kishore Sharma, all former ministers , Mohd Aslam Goni former Advocate General, Naresh Gupta former MLC and other important local leaders.
