When will terrorism end in Jammu and Kashmir?

Sunaina Malik

First of all, a deep and profound salute to the brave hearts and souls of our five Indian soldiers who have embrassed death while fighting for the honour and freedom of our mother land at Kandi area of district Rajouri on 5th of May 2023.
This is not the only heart wrecking terror attack by coward heads but in another terror attack at Bhata Dhurian area of district pooch,we have lost the precious lives of our five soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles. In series to this, our innocent civilians have also paid the price of terrorism by sacrificing their lives at the hands of terrorists at Dangri area of district Rajouri on 1st January of this year. Here I want to say that, if someone kills a person, it does not mean that he kills one person but it means, he kills the adoring husband of a wife, he kills the dreams of a mother, he kills the support of a father, he kills the security of children, he kills the inspiration of a brother, he kills the proud of a sister and over all he kills the affectionate mortal of God, which I think, God in no case would have permitted so. Almighty has bent us to adore, esteem, honour, assist and sustain each other not to odium and slaughter each other.
Our state J&K has been witnessing the bloody episode of martyrdom of Armed personnel along with innocent civilians since the onset of insurgency. As per official data , 5000 Army Personnel and 14000 civilians have sacrificed their inestimable life for the safety and security of our state. The most unfortunate effect of terrorism in our state was the displacement of our Kashmiri Pandits breathern from their mother land Kashmir (which they would not have even thought in their dreams). Due to Sangrampora massacre (1997) in which 7 KPs were killed and Wandhama massacre (1998), in which 24 KPs were brutally murdered, nearly 170000 to 700000 KPs (pride of Kashmir) were displaced from their homes, their gardens , their fields and their heaven on earth. Other incidents which have shaken the people of state from within, were the twin attacks by suicide bombers on Ragunath Temple at Ragunath Bazaar Jammu on 30th March 2002 and 24 November 2002 respectively. In both the attacks, many devotees have lost their lives and lots of them got grave injuries. In count to this, these two incidents have also torn the feel of communal harmony of our people from within.
At present when the countries like U.S and China, which have already reached at the level of developed countries, still struggling tough to make their countries more prosperous and to make the life standard of their natives more luxurious. But we people are still struggling with poverty and starvation. Un ending ambiance of terrorism incessantly pushing our expansion far far back than the developed countries. Having their pockets filled with money, people of developed countries, direct their mind towards inventing new machines and technologies. But our life revolves around Roti, Kapra aur Makan.
At this point of jiffy my heart is howling with questions like When will utmost impediment of progress in the form of terrorism end? When will tranquility and opulence knock every door in our state? When will there be jobs in every home? When will we also live comfy life like people of developed countries? When will our child mind will be towards inventions and discoveries rather than towards guns and bullets? When will effect of terrorism utterly fade from the minds and even from the nightmares of natives of J&K?
In the end I would like to say that it is not the land and ego, but it is the life which matters. Life is most precious reward of God, so we must not make fun of this blessing by idly annihilating it.
