Welfare of border villagers prime focus of Modi Govt in J&K: Sukhnandan

JAMMU: Former Minister and senior BJP leader Ch Sukhnandan Kumar on Thursday outlined that the welfare of border villagers and their betterment is the prime focus of the Modi government in J&K.
Addressing border villagers during a programme at Chicken Neck border area in Panchayat Gango Chak in Marh block, Choudhary Sukhnandan kicked started the work on NABARD funded road that connects many for border villages, under the central sponsored scheme.
Speaking on peace and development in the region, Sukhnandan reiterated that the BJP government is determined to destroy not only terrorists but the entire terror ecosystem in J&K with a clear cut policy of not sparing any anti-national elements sponsored by Pakistan.
He said the people of border villages are standing by their nation in the same way as they have been doing in the past. “The people of these areas, despite having various problems, are patriotic Indians and next to the Indian Army having a very prominent role in safeguarding our borders from enemy,” Sukhnandan said .
Giving details about the BADP (Border Area Developmental Programme), Choudhary Sukhnandan said that many works under this programme are already going and more funds should be provided to the border villages for various welfare schemes.
He also called upon the Central Governments to start a special recruitment drive in para military forces for the people living in the border areas. This, Sukhnandan said, will help in tackling the unemployment problem on one hand and on the other hand will be useful in maintaining peace in the region
Troubled by our renewed resolve towards development of Jammu & Kashmir, its aspirations and latest goals, our enemies are making desperate attempts to create unrest in J&K through drug trafficking, smuggling of arms through drones and through social media, Sukhnandan said, adding that the Government’s determination and the indomitable courage of our Police and Security forces will not let the enemies outside and within our borders succeed.
Sukhnandan also shed light on increasing self-reliance in various sectors at national level, including defence, and said, “Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, lots of development works are under taken for the border villagers in J&K.
This border road in March block being constructed under NABARD funds in this area will help many villagers and this road will connect many border villages from Kanachak to Lalyal and other adjoining villages, said Sukhnandan.
