Weeklong cleanliness drive in health institutions from today

JAMMU: Acting on the directions of Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, Health Department is launching weeklong cleanliness drive in all health institutions including tertiary care hospitals in the State on Sunday.
The cleanliness drive is aimed at ensuring complete sanitation and neat and clean atmosphere in the Government Hospitals.
The Health Minister has stressed upon stakeholders of this drive to make concerted efforts to ensure that the wash rooms/toilets are totally clean and free from any leakage, broken sanitary ware, etc.
In this regard, an advisory has also been issued to concerned Medical Superintendents, Chief Medical Officers and Block Medical Officers for making prior arrangements to ensure the success of this drive.
It has also been circulated that after the completion of the drive, the Hospitals and Health institutions shall be inspected to examine the interventions carried out.
“Non performance in this regard or continuation of insanitary conditions shall be viewed seriously and Head of the concerned Institutions shall be personally responsible for such acts of omission”, the circular added. The ensuing cleanliness drive will be the biggest ever endeavour being conducted in Health Institutions of J and K State.
Meanwhile, foreseeing the requirement of cool potable water due to onset of summers, Bali Bhagat on Saturday directed the concerned quarters of GMC&H Jammu to install water coolers fitted with water purifiers at all the levels of the building.
