Wave Cricket Club lifts Jammu Tawi Premier T20 TITLE

JAMMU: Wave Cricket Club (WCC) registered win over Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) and lifted the title trophy of the Jammu Tawi Premier T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Academy (JKCA), Jammu Wing at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College Hostel Ground, here on Monday.
Bating first, WCC scored splendid 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Ujjwal played well, smashed some crispy shots and scored 41 runs in 33 balls with the help of five boundaries and one six, whereas K.D Singh made 28 runs in 10 balls including two boundaries and three sixes. Charanjeet also contributed with 27 runs in 43 balls.
For RCC, Shashi Kumar took two wickets in his 4 overs spell by conceiving 26 runs, whereas Dhruv Mahajan also claimed two wickets by giving 28 runs in two overs. Amit Sharma picked one wicket by giving 28 runs in just 1 over.
In reply, RCC made 147 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs thus lost the match by just two runs. Dhruv Mahajan scored 48 runs with four boundaries and one six, whereas Chamkor Singh and Shashi Kumar made 27 and 17 runs respectively.
For WCC, Parkash Singh scalped two wickets, whereas Deepak and K.D Singh shared one wicket each.
The Man of the Match award was presented to K.D Singh of Wave Cricket Club whereas Man of the Series award was presented to Satish Kumar.
The best batsman of the tournament award was handed over to Ahmed of RCC and Gagan of WCC was adjudged as best bowler of the tournament.
MLA Gandhi Nagar awarded the winners in presence of Parveen Kapahi and Sanjeev Isher, who were Guests of Honour. Shashi Pal, organiser of the tournament along with officials of Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club was also present.
