Water crisis during Ramadan in border Tehsil

MENDHAR : The drinking water crises in the border Tehsil of Mendhar are continuously being brought to the notice of PHE department including the XEn Poonch by the people of this Tehsil but they could get nothing more than the assurances for want of sincere efforts by the local executives.
Besides calling on these local executives in the shape of public deputations, the people held number of protest and even blocked the roads, but every time there were assurances by the PHE officers and the administration on their behalf.
According to the locals the areas including Kalaban, Ndol, Banola, Slvah, Bhatidhar, Jugal, Chhatral, Chungan, Chak Banola, Kasbaladi, Mankote, Sakhi Maidan, Dhargaloon, Kota, Arhi, Suroti, Harni, Balakote, Gani and Batnoi etc, are confronted with the water problem and that too during the month of Ramadan. The people on Tuesday also contacted the XEn Poonch who again made a verbal assurance for supplying of drinking water but did not move his executives to action.
The people have appealed to the Minister for PHE and Irrigation Shyam Choudhary to depute a team of officers to study the problem and rectify it so that they get drinking water.
Prominent among those present include Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Zubair Khan, Zaheen Akhtar, Tuba Nasreen, Rajivna Kamri and Rameez Raja.
