AKHNOOR : A large number of people from village Chajjar (Panj Grain) of Akhnoor Tehsil held a protest and blocked the road by keeping a dead body at Nirdosh Chowk, Akhnoor .
As per report, one Dev Raj son of Amar Nath resident of village Chajjar (Panj Grain) Tehsil Akhnoor was murdered in Sopore (Srinagar) three days back without any reason. Family members and other people of the area today protested along with body of Dev Raj and blocked the road for more than three hours demanding justice.
As per family members of Dev Raj he was working in a hotel at Sopore (Srinagar) for the last eight to ten years and suddenly two days back news came from Sopore that Dev Raj was killed by some suspected people and Sopore police also arrested one Muneer Khan in this connection.
On the receipt of blockage of the road, Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor Suresh Chander Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) Naresh Singh Jamwal, Station House Officer (SHO) Akhnoor Pushpinder Singh along with police force reached the spot and assured the family members for justice with Dev Raj.
SDM constituted a six members team for conducting investigation in the case.
After the assurance of SDM people liftrd the protest and took body from Nirdosh Chowk for cremation.
