Villagers protest for better medicare, education facilities

UDHAMPUR : Residents of village Nali Nikka, Dubi Gali and Badhota held a protest Dharna against the Departments of Health and Education for their failure to provide required services to the people in the rural areas of district Udhampur.
Lamberdar Falail Singh, Sarpanch Yaspal Singh, Krishan Singh and Sher Singh said that the Medical Aid Centre (MAC) Nali Nikka is closed for the last 15 days due to which the patients with different ailments reaching MAC go back empty handed.
Falail Singh said that the MAC opens for one week in a month with two medical employees having no infrastructure and medicines. The patients have to go back disappointed.
The protesters requested the Chief Medical Officer Udhampur to make this MAC functional so that the people of the area are benefitted. They said that if the required staff is not provided in MAC with medicines, they will be forced to stage Dharna in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
Meanwhile the villagers also pointed out that the school in the village is not working properly. The school is without staff and ultimately the children of villagers suffer.
The villagers appealed
to the Director of Health to provide requisite staff in
the MAC.
