POONCH : The residents of village Banwat, Poonch held a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for non-supply of drinking water to the village for the last one week. The protesters blocked the Jammu – Poonch National Highway at Qazi Mohra.
Immediately on receipt of information the SHO Poonch along with police team reached the spot and interacted with the protesters. The SHO spoke to the PHE authorities and their representative JE Mechanical also reached the spot and told the people that there had been problem due to power supply. He assured that they would get drinking water by tomorrow.
On the assurance of JE the villagers lifted Dharna.
