KARGIL: One of the last Village on the LoC which is just 20 Km away from Kargil Town has been connected with motorable road after 1967, after the initiative of the villagers as well as a local contractor who voluntarily provided machinery to the villagers.
The villagers organised a get together in which the Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil Haji Hanifa Jan was the Chief Guest and Senior NC Leader and former Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon was the Guest of Honour.
Others present on this occasion included Executive Councillor Tsering Angdus and Moihsin Ali, Councillor Choskor Sheikh Raza, ZEO Kargil Mohammad Mussa, Coordinator NYK, Ajaz Hussain Munshi, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of Chuliskambo Constituency.
The villagers on this occasion thanked the CEC LAHDC Kargil for supporting them in connecting the village with motorable road by announcing funds later.
The villagers also thanked Contractor Haji Fayaz for his support to the villagers after completing his work on the bridge with machine and machinery.
According to Asgar a villager, the villagers were so eager to connect the village with the already available footpath, they didn’t wait for the government for making the road, and approached the contractor Haji Fayaz to do a favour by providing his machinery to make the 4 Km long Road from the bridge and within 20 days completed the construction.
On this occasion CEC Kargil appreciated the unity of the villagers and the volunteerism of the Contractor Haji Fayaz and congratulated the villagers for getting motobrable road.
Talking on this occasion Qamar Ali Akhoon told that the bridge for the Village has been sanctioned during his time and he feels immense pleasure for being the first person to reach Latoo just after getting connected with Road.
On this occasion Executive Councillor Tsering Angdus and Mohsin Ali and Ajaz Hussain Munshi and others also interacted with the people.
Dr Shabir Hussain who is a resident of the village presented a memorandum on behalf of the people of the village before the guest in which the villagers demanded the approval of the DPR of the road, irrigational project for the village, and ALC status for the residents of the village and up gradation of the school of the Village.
