JAMMU: Senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Vikramaditya Singh on Wednesday called upon the people to avail benefits of the various schemes being launched by the State Government for the upliftment and betterment of the people. He said the state government headed by CM Mehbooba Mufti has launched a number of welfare schemes for the benefit of people in general and marginalised sections in particular. Singh was addressing a public meeting at village Saharan in Marh block to address local issues. The public raised certain issues regarding Aadhar cards, distribution of LPG cylinders, and old age and widow pensions. They also raised the issue of unemployment among the youth and demanded that employment be generated by means of setting up industrial units.
While addressing the large gathering, Singh said that public can make use of various welfare schemes by registering with DC’s office. Responding to the demand raised by locals, Singh assured them that he would take up all issues with the concerned authorities for early redressal. At Marh, the MLC also inspected various developmental works which were started under his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Earlier, he attended party function at village Bera, RS Pura. He inaugurated lanes commissioned through CDF and also addressed issues relating to supply of kerosene oil, ration and transport facility for the villagers. He assured the people that the matters would be taken up with the concerned authorities. Satpal Singh Charak, Vijaya Dogra, Vijay Chib, Vikram Singh, Surat Singh, Kuldeep Sharma and Seema Devi accompanied the MLC.
