JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Wednesday conducted raids at five locations in Jammu district in connection with the registration of FIR against former Naib Tehsildar Akhnoor for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
FIR 27/17 under sections 5(1)(e), 5(2) J&K P.C.Act Svt.2006 has been registered against Om Parkash, son of Mali Ram, resident of Asarwan , Kot Bhalwal Jammu who recently retired as Naib Tehsildar Akhnoor.
The SVO sleuths and local police conducted raid at his residences in Janipur, Asarwan, Kangar and two other places in Kot Bhalwal area.
According to SVO, a verification was conducted into the allegations against Om Parkash for acquiring huge chunk of immovable property in the shape of agricultural land through illegal means during his posting in the revenue department.
During the course of verification, SVO sleuths collected the details of illegally acquired properties by Om Parkash in his name and in the names of his relatives.
Moreover, he has also been found in illegal possession of large chunk of land falling under different khasra numbers situated at village Bhalwal.
On the prima facie establishment of offences, the SVO registered the case and different teams of the vigilance department conducted simultaneous raids at his residences in Janipur, Asarwan, Kangar and two other places in Jammu district.
During the process, all relevant record/suspicious documents pertaining to movable/ immovable properties / benami assets which have been recovered from various locations have been seized on spot in presence of independent witnesses.
Further scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by sleuths of Vigilance Organisation.
