JAMMU: Vigilance Organization Kashmir caught two government servants red-handed while accepting bribe from the complainant.
Vigilance Organization Kashmir presented a Charge Sheet before the Court of the Additional Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Anantnag in a case registered under FIR No. 40/2014 Section 5(2) Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Corruption Act Svt. 2006 and Section 120-B RPC and Section 4-A P.C (Amendment) Act, 2014 of Police Station VOK against two public servants namely, Ghulam Ahmad Malik, the then Horticulture Development Officer Kokernag and Mohammad Afzal Tantray, the then Horticulture Technician-2nd HDO office Kokernag.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint alleging therein that some portion of horticulture land situated in village Guridraman Kokernag had come under Panad Kralwari Road being constructed under PMGSY Scheme in which there were some fruit bearing trees. It was further alleged that for processing the case for assessment of compensation of fruit bearing plants, the aggrieved had approached Gh. Ahmad Malik, the then Horticulture officer Kokernag a number of times who instead of doing their work through legitimate process of law instead started demanded Rs. 35,000 as bribe for processing the Case.
After registering the case a trap was laid and both of the public servants were caught red handed while accepting the bribe.
