Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi, Vicky XI Pathankot win in Police Martyrs T20

KATHUA: Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi and Vicky XI Pathankot registered victories in the ongoing Seventh Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship, organised jointly by the J and K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi outplayed Balaji Cricket Club Kurushetra by eight wickets.
Batting first, Balaji Cricket Club Kurushetra scored 83 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Ricky was the top scorer with 15 runs off 10 balls. For Vidhya Jain Academy, Shivam was the successful bowler who picked five wickets by conceding 20 runs.
In reply, Vidhya Jain Academy easily chased the target by losing only two wickets in six overs. Shivam played a brilliant knock of 51 runs off 15 balls with the help of four sixes and five boundaries.
For his match winning inning, Shivam was declared Man of the Match and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2,100 and a trophy by Manik Gupta.
In another match, Vicky XI Pathankot outplayed Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana by 84 runs.
Vicky XI Pathankot , batting first, set a target of 185 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
Prince and Nikhal of played a fine inning of 59 and 54 runs respectively. Rubaljit Singh and Seepa shared one wicket each for of Sandhu Cricket Club Ludhiana.
In reply, Sa]ndhu Club Ludhiana failed to chase the target and managed to score only 101 runs in 20 overs. Seepa and Mohit Honda were the main scorers with 19 and 15 runs respectively. Sukha and Baltej of Vicky XI Pathankot shared two wickets each.
Prince, who scored 59 runs and took one wicket, was declared Man of the Match with cash prize of Rs. 2,100 and a trophy by Amit Gupta.
