VHP, ABKM hail LC’s decision of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh birthday

JAMMU: Various organisations on Wednesday welcomed that the decision of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council for passing the resolution of 23rd September as gazzeted holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
VHP State General Secretary, Shakti Dutt Sharma said “A historic resolution passed in the J&K Legislative Council, where Jammu’s longstanding demand finally taken forward.” Shakti Dutt highlighted the contributions of the Maharaja and remembered the works performed and schemes implemented by him for the betterment of the J&K State. “Maharaja was a social reformer who worked for women education and upliftment of weaker sections of the society,” he added.
The signatories to the statement include Suresh Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Advocate Pawan Khajuria, Ram Pal Seth, Sunil Dutt Sharma (Raka), Dr Varun, Yash Seth, Rajat Soodan and Sahil Seth.
State President of Akhil Bhartiya Kashatriya Mahasabha(ABKM), Ravi Singh Slathia hailed the resolution adopted by the J&K Legislative Council for declaring 23rd September as gazetted holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh. He further said that peoples of J and K have great love and regard for the late maharaja who did great work for the peoples of the State during his regime as the Maharaj of State. He appealed to the members of Legislative Assembly to adopt the similar resolution so that a long pending demand of the peoples of State should be fulfilled.
State Youth President of Rajput Sabha, Pawan Chib hailed the decision of Legislative Council for passing resolution of gazzeted holiday on 23 September on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh.
