Veeri calls for fast pacing of developmental works

SRINAGAR: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri on Wednesday directed the officers to ensure time bound completion of various projects so that these get completed within the stipulated time and also without any cost escalation.
The minister was speaking at a review meeting of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department here.
Veeri directed for maximum utilization of funds allotted to developmental works for the current fiscal by fast pacing of them.
He said that due to limited working season in the valley these are not being utilized to the maximum and the onus lies on them to ensure that the major chunk of the funds is utilized.
“The most of the working season has passed and concerted efforts are needed this year to ensure the maximum utilization of the funds which can ensure the completion of these initiatives”, he added.
He also directed for taking up and completion of various proposed bridges around Kashmir maintaining that these are essential for ensuring connectivity of different villages and areas of the division. Veeri stressed upon for balanced development in all the districts. He asked the engineers of Srinagar city to carry out a developmental survey of the city within a week.
