AKHNOOR: To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of White Knight Corps and celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit mahotsav, remarking 75 years of India’s Independence, a bike Rally was flagged off from Nowshera on 8 June.
On 12 June, after completing 5 days of journey, the riders comprising 09 army personnel and 06 civilians reached Akhnoor Sector. This sector saw the maj battles both in 1965 and 1971 war. The rally is aimed to remember the bravehearts who fought valiantly during the 1965 and 1971 war and to facilitate the veterans who showed exemplary courage during the Wars.
The Rally layed wreaths at war memorials of pahariwala, kachrial and the iconic “Guardians of LC” memorial at pallanwala. In addition to this the rally also covered war memorials situated at Rakhmuthi and Jauriyan.
The Rally was welcome by the residents of Akhnoor and praised their dedication and motives for remembering the bravehearts and the residents. It was successful in making bond between the Armed forces and civilians.
The rally concluded its journey of the day by laying the final wreath at “Warriors Groove” at Akhnoor. Akhnoor sector encompasses a total of 7 war memorials, signifying the strategic importance of the place, to defend which our bravehearts had shed blood during 1965 and 1971 war.
The rally will be flagged in at Nagrota on 13 June 2022.
