JAMMU: The Regional Review and Planning Workshop of School Leadership Academies (SLAs) was inaugurated in Jammu by Prof. Shashikala Wanjari, Vice-Chancellor, NIEPA.
A three-day Regional Review and Planning Workshop of School Leadership Academies (SLAs) organised by SCERT Jammu & Kashmir, Divisional Office Jammu, under the aegis of the National Centre for School Leadership (NCSL), NIEPA, New Delhi.
The workshop organised under the guidance of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director SCERT Jammu and Kashmir and Director School Education Jammu, brings together SLA representatives from Punjab, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir to review progress, share best practices and strengthen strategic planning for school leadership in alignment with NEP 2020.Participants also include DIET Principals, Deputy Directors, Deputy CEOs, School Leadership Academy members making the programme a vibrant platform for cross-regional exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices in school leadership.
Shailesh Kumari, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Ritu Mahajan, Additional Secretary School Education Department and Mushtaq Ahmed, Joint Director, Directorate of School Education also graced the occasion.
The inaugural session began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the formal welcome address delivered by Prof Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Jammu Division. Introducing the programme, she outlined the objectives and structure of the three-day workshop, emphasizing regional collaboration, reflective review and evidence-based planning as key pillars of effective school leadership.
The release of the workshop brochure marked the formal launch of deliberations and documented the roadmap for regional action planning.
In her address, Prof. Shashikala Wanjari emphasized the importance of evidence-based leadership practices, inter-State collaboration and peer learning to align school education with national priorities and global benchmarks and appreciated the efforts undertaken by SCERT Jammu and Kashmir in this regard.
The inaugural session was smoothly moderated by Manu Vasudev and Monica Sharma, Academic Officers, SCERT J&K, ensuring effective flow of proceedings and time-bound conduct of the programme.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Joint Director SCERT Kashmir Syed Shabir Ahmad, who wished for the success of this workshop.
During the three-day workshop, sessions will be facilitated by expert faculty of NCSL-NIEPA, Dr. Charu Malik, Dr. Gyaneshwari Longjam and Dr. Pankaj Singh focusing on leadership review mechanisms, strategic planning, professional learning communities and collaborative frameworks besides 90-minute special session on Viksit Bharat @2047 bringing together eminent academicians and policymakers as resource persons.
The session will feature Prof. J. N. Baliya, Head, Department of Educational Studies, Central University; Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Head, Department of Education, University of Jammu; Syed Shabir Ahmed, Joint Director, SCERT Kashmir; and Sheetal Pandita, Deputy Secretary, School Education Department.
The programme is expected to culminate in State/UT-wise and regional action plans, strengthened inter-State collaboration and a shared vision for school transformation through effective leadership.
