JAMMU: Vice Chancellor (VC), University of Jammu (JU), Prof Umesh Rai on Friday felicitated Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer, JU for receiving the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Yuva Ustad Bismillah Khan Award by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in the field of Theatre Direction. This accolade recognizes Ifra’s outstanding contributions and dedication in the field of theatre.` Ifra Kak, with her remarkable achievement, has not only brought honor to herself but has brought laurels to the University of Jammu. The Vice-Chancellor expressed immense pride in Ifra’s accomplishments and wished her success in her future endeavors. Ifra is among the 80 young artists for Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2022 and 2023. This award carries a purse money of Rs. 25,000 besides Tamrapatra and Angavastram. These awards will be conferred by the Chairman , Sangeet Natak Akademi in a special ceremony. It is pertinent to mention here that the office of DSW, University of Jammu is now decorated with two National Awardees as Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor is also a recipient of this prestigious Award.
