JAMMU: To promote the sports activities in the Jammu and Kashmir, Vice Chairman JAKFED, Munish Sharma called on the Member of Parliament, Anurag Thakur here on Tuesday and discussed the ways to empower sports activities in J&K.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman urged Member of Parliament to provide the basic infrastructural facilities in rural and urban areas like opening of sports academy, special coaching camps so that youth get adequate facilities for the various national and international events.
Vice Chairman appealed to the Member Parliament that youngsters of the State possess great talented and they just need good guidance and necessary support by way of training and exposure for national and international competitions.
Vice Chairman also discussed the multi-crore scam of construction of international stadium which was supposed to be constructed by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Bajalta on the outskirts of Jammu city. The proposed land which was handed over by the State Government way back in 2005 but till date the fate of 11 years old proposed international stadium at Bajalta has not seen the light of day yet, he said.
Anurag Thakur promised his full support and assured that he will take up the matter with the authorities’ concerned.
