STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: A massive candle march was organized by various social, religious, trade and transport organizations under the banner “Justice For T S Wazir”, ex-MLC and ex-Chairman State Gurdwara Parbhandak Board and ex-Chairman All J&K Transport Welfare Association, who was brutally murdered in Delhi in September 2021, under suspicious circumstances.
Representatives of different organizations like District Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee Jammu, Bar Association Jammu, Chamber of Commerce Jammu, Warehouse Traders Association and Yuva Rajput Sabha and people from all walks of life participated in the march in large number.
The March started from the residence of slain leader T.S Wazir and culminated at Police Station Gandhi Nagar where a sitting Dharna was held.
Speaking on the occasion, various speakers expressed deep anguish and resentment against the law enforcing agencies for not able to unfold the conspiracy and not unveiling the perpetrators of the heinous crime even after a lapse of more than one year.
The anger has increased manyfold after the arrest, there is no word from the investigation agencies about the progress made in the probe and any information revealed by the accused Harpreet Singh.
This callous attitude of investigation agencies have created doubt in the minds of the people about the seriousness of the agencies in solving the crime of this magnitude and moreover about their intentions, they said.
All the speakers emphasized on the fact that T.S Wazir was leader of common masses who always fought for the rights of the needy irrespective of caste, creed or religion and such a treatment to a person of his stature cannot be tolerated at any cost.
The investigation agencies must realize that their reputation is also at stake and any lapse on their part intentionally or unintentionally shall cause an irreparable damage to their credibility among common masses, they said.
The protestors fervently appealed to the LG JK UT to understand the agony of the family and supporters of T.S Wazir and take up the matter to the Ministry of Home Affairs to expedite the investigation in the case so that the real perpetrators are identified and punished.
