Main demands highlighted by the people before Addl. Supdt. of Police Udhampur, Khalil Ahmed Poswal were issues pertaining to excessive unscheduled power cuts, particularly in W/No. 7 of Kud town, very low voltage resulting students got suffered badly and also the electric transformer installed in the area got damaged, mostly the electric supply got disrupted due to short circuit caused by the electric poles touching green trees, eve teasing, drug addiction are the main issues and seminars be organized to aware the youth about the harms of drugs and police patrolling be intensified in the area, shortage of staff and equipment’s at Govt. Hospital Kud, special recruitment for the unemployed youth be carried out so that maximum unemployed educated youths got employment, written notification regarding cut of electricity be issued, permission be granted for construction of house at Patnitop without obtaining NOC for local people of the area in their own land, over loading of vehicles, speed breakers be constructed in the main bazaar Kud to minimise the speed of rash vehicles passing through NHW-1A and suitable place for parking of vehicle in Kud town.
Especially it should be emphasised to regulate the traffic from Samorli to Chenani particularly the standard vehicles rather than challaning of vehicles under motor vehicle Act by Traffic Police. Addl. SP Udhampur gave a patient hearing to the demands of the general public and assured them that all their genuine demands would be redressed on priority by taking up the matter with the appropriate fora.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Mushtaq Ahmed (Sarpanch Kud), Sohail Anwar, Om Parkash (Sarpanch Panchote), Yash Paul AEE PDD Department, Arun Gupta JE, Pardeep Kumar, Sham Lal, Ajaz Khan, Dr. Talik and other citizens of Kud town and its adjoining areas were also present in the meeting.
P. R Shan, SDPO Chenani, SHO Police Station Chenani and SHO Police Station Kud were also present during the meeting.
The general public of the area highly appreciated the role of Kud Police for organising such meeting in the town and for maintaining law and order in Kud and its adjoining areas. They also requested for organising similar police-public meetings in future as well.
