SAMBA: State President BJP SC morcha and MLA Samba Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal on Sunday organised campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Hai’ from District Hospital Samba to achieve multidimensional targets under Swachh Bharat Mission by raising efforts towards cleanliness across the Samba Constituency.
Speaking on this occasion Manyal said the efforts are being made through Swachhta Campaign to make Samba clean and healthy place. MLA also called upon the local people to be a part of this campaign and asked all to take a pledge to make India healthy and clean.
DPO Samba Azaz Kesar, BDO Samba Malvika, Samba Mandal President Sanju, Sanjeev Padha,Sushil Singh Kaka, Balbir Singh, Surinder, some BJP party workers and locals accompanied the MLA on the occasion.
SUCHETGARH: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jammu working under the administrative control of SKUAST-Jammu organised Swachhta Hi Seva Hai programme at Suchetgarh Border Tourist Reception Centre. The programme was attended by Scientist of KVK SKUAST- J R S Pura, large number of rural youths of Suchetgarh border village, Sarpanch, members of the Dharmarth Trust of an ancient temple constructed by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1837 and officials of the Tourist Reception Center.
According to Dr Punit Choudhary Scientist Forestry, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jammu the programmes are being carried out under ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Hai’ campaign which started from Sept 15. Dr Sheetal Badyal Scientist Home Science advocated the importance of cleanness in day to day life. Poonam Abrol Programme Assistant also spoke on the importance of neat and clean surroundings on the occasion. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Sarpanch Suchetgarh Swarn Lal.
UDHAMPUR: The District Employment and Counselling Centre under the aegis of District Administration today organised Swachhta Se Rozgar programme as part of ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Campaign. District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar presided over the function.
Unemployed engineers besides Self Help Groups registered with Employment Department and various entrepreneurs from JKEDI participated in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC urged upon the participants to make the programme a big success by actively participating in the process of recycling of waste being organised under ‘Swachhta se Rozgar’ programme.
Pertinently, the Employment Department Udhampur has launched the initiative ‘Swachhta Se Rozgar’ which is first of its kind under ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign.
Earlier, Deputy Director Employment Rakesh Dubey, Assistant Director Employment Bhumika Sharma and District Nodal Officer EDI Vishal Ray enlightened the participants about various schemes being run by Employment Department as well as JKEDI.
REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, participated in a sanitation drive launched by Municipality Katra in association with Indian Oil Corporation at Fountain Chowk Katra followed by an awareness programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister appreciated the municipality for this drive and called upon the officers to intensify similar drives in all 13 wards of Katra town till culmination of this nationwide sanitation campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’.
Later, the minister handed over mementos to 50 sweepers who worked hard during Navratra Festival. The sweepers were also provided uniforms, shoes and caps on the occasion.
SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, Brand Ambassador and International Hockey Player Sardar Didar Singh, Chief Executive Officer K.K Chalotra and other officers and officials of municipality were also present on the occasion.
SAMBA: Expressing optimism that all will not confine the unprecedented nationwide campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ to mere a matter of 15 days only, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga emphasised the need of adopting these sanitation initiatives as an integral part of our lives so that our nation emerges as a beautiful, clean and neat country.
“ Our today’s efforts towards Swachhta Abhyan would be the most valuable gift to our next generations”, the Minister opined while making a fervent appeal to all to continue this campaign with the same spirit as cleanliness is not only the responsibility of sanitation personnel and government departments but it is a multi-stakeholder national movement.
The minister was addressing the people during celebration of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign at Samba being conducted by the district administration. Earlier, the minister pasted stickers on Swachhta Hi Seva on several vehicles on the National Highway. ADDC Samba, Vivek Sharma, SE PHE, BDO Aijaz Kesar and other officers were also present on the occasion.
