Vandalisation of Gurdwara: Sikhs seek action

JAMMU: Various Sikh organisations on Monday strongly condemned the attack on Gurdwara Sahib Singh Sabha Kishtwar and demanded stern action against the guilty who forcibly tried to take possession of the religious place.
A joint meeting of Management Committee Gurdwara Baba Chanda Singh ji, Nirvair Social Organisation, J and K Sikh Progressive Front, Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Committee, Management Committee, Gurdwara Charan Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Ser Manjila, etc was held under the presidium of Sukhbir Singh, President Management Committee Gurdwara Baba Chanda Singh ji and Nirvair Social Organisation, and Mohan Singh President Gurdwara Sahib Ser Manjila.
The participants said that this act of vandalism at the historical Gurdwara needs to be dealt with seriousness by the Police.
They added that it has been learnt that some persons forcibly broke locks of some rooms of Gurdwara Sahib and threatened the family members of the Sevadars.
Sukhbir said Gurdwara Sahib was established here in 1916 by Bhai Sahib Sher Singh Kashmir. He appealed to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, who is also President of DGPC Jammu, to take possession of Gurdwara Sahib along with connected land and take immediate action against the guilty. He also appealed to the District Magistrate Kishtwar to impose restriction to entry of offenders and their supporters in the Gurdwara.
Brig Rajinder Singh, Surinder Singh Shinda, Ujjagar Singh, Jatinder Pal Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Pammi Gurmeet Singh, Shahbaz Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Parveen Singh, Jagbir Singh, Jadgeep Singh, Inderpal Singh, Gurnam Singh, Dupinder Singh and Vinod Sabherwal were also present.
