JAMMU: Former Minister Abdul Ghani Vakil dared Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to seek the intervention of BJP top brass for withdrawal of a petition filed by Lakshawdeep Administrator and BJP leader Farooq Khan for abrogation of Article 370 in Delhi High Court.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Vakil, in response to expunging of the remarks of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on her Article 370, said “Chief Minister should have come to the House and clarified her position on article 370. The way Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta expunged Chief Minister’s remarks on Article 370 has exposed the PDP claims that BJP is committed to maintain the status quo on contentious issues like Article 370 as per Agenda of Alliance scripted between PDP and BJP for government formation”.
“Chief Minister’s silence on Speaker’s highly questionable and objectionable ruling on
her Article 370 remark shows that PDP and BJP sit together in Assembly for power,” he said.
Expressing concern over the way NC and BJP were sitting together in Parliament during the reign of Vajpayee led NDA Government at the Centre, Vakil said Chief Minister should either quit or clarify her stands on her remark over Article 370. Vakil asked Mehbooba if Agenda of Alliance is the rule book for running the PDP-BJP Coalition Government then she should not shy from asking BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ask their party leader and Lakshawdeep Administrator to withdraw his petition on abrogation of Article 370 from Delhi High Court and both Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not have any reservation to accept Mehbooba Mufti’s this demand immediately and forthwith.
