VAJK makes youth voters aware through sports

JAMMU: The Volleyball Association of Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday held an exhibition match at MA Stadium Jammu to promote voter awareness.
The event featured a thrilling showdown between the Sports Authority of India Jammu center and the Army 11 team, showcasing impressive skills and teamwork.
It’s worth mentioning here team of Sports Authority of India comprises of all volleyball players from JKUT, were urged to spread awareness of strengthening democracy by casting their votes in the Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections and act as ambassadors to motivate youth for promoting the democratic institutions in J&K UT. Aman Sharma, Incharge of the Sports Authority of India J&K, served as the Chief Guest who introduced with the participating teams by office bearers of Volleyball Association of J&K led by Kuldip Magotra Chief Executive Officer, Vijay Kumar Magotra General Secretary and Ramesh Sharma Treasurer.
He emphasized the importance of participating in the Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections and encouraged the players to become ambassadors for democratic engagement among the youth. The chief guest lauded the efforts of the Volleyball Association of J&K in motivating the youth all across JKUT on various issues like Drug abuse, Fit India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in addition to present ongoing JKUT assembly elections through organizing such sports events/ matches at grass root level. The match concluded with Army 11 triumphing over the Sports Authority of India with a score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-22), displaying an exciting array of spikes and strategy. Dignitaries including veteran volleyball player Shashi Sharma and coach Prateek Kumar were also present, highlighting the community’s passion for the sport.
Kuldip Magotra, CEO of the Volleyball Association of J&K, reflected on the organization’s efforts to address various societal issues, such as drug abuse and cleanliness initiatives, through sports. Participants were invited to share a poem in Dogri recited by Madan Lal Toofan through social media link, promoting the vital message of voting to strengthen democracy.
