VAJK celebrates Art of Giving Day at Jammu

JAMMU: As part of celebrations of 10th anniversary of the Art of Giving (AOG), founded by Prof. Achyuta Samanta, President VFI, MP (Lok Sabha), Founder of KIIT & KISS, Volleyball Association of J&K under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India on Wednesday organised exhibition volleyball matches of boys and girls teams at MA Stadium, here.
Trikuta Volleyball Club (Girls) and Pinto Club (Boys) both identified Volleyball clubs of Jammu Distt contested with J&K UT Sub-Junior girls and boys teams who are undergoing coaching camp prior to the participation in 45th Sub Junior National Volleyball Championship at Chandernagore, Hooghly from 27th May to 1th of June 2023.
Both the teams displayed their skills of the game, enthralled the audience with their spikes and dodges.
Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (DSO) (Jammu), who was the Chief Guest, lauded the efforts of organizers in improving overall standard of volleyball game in JKUT, besides fulfilling the mission of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, who is relentlessly working hard for helping the downtrodden masses including sportspersons for the last over 10 years as founder of Art of Giving – NGO.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta’s social outreach programme, dedication of 30 years service for the humanity with a deep desire to help those who are less fortunate has paid dividend all over the world at present.
His unconditional support to sportspersons by providing free education, training facilities and all necessary help is another milestone of the organization with a great difference.
This year theme of Art of Giving is “Helping the Help” in a grand manner.
The objective is not to give materialistic support to the ones who need what to help someone with dignity, no charity and bringing joy to their lives.
According to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, “a life lived in the spirit of Art of Giving- is a life of fulfillment, purpose and sacrifice”.
The day celebrated here in J&K UT with distribution of volleyball equipments to ten affiliated Volleyball clubs of JKUT who are associated with VAJK and engaged in promotion of volleyball.
Earlier V.K Magotra, General Secretary of VAJK gave an account of International Day of Art of Giving which is engaged for welfare of society, humanity and spirituality.
The chief guest was honoured by presenting a memento on the occasion.
The office bearers of VAJK Kuldip Magotra CEO, H.S Gill Ex. Vice President, R.C Sharma Treasurer, Subash Shastri and Veena Kumari Executive members, Ayisha Tabasum and many sports lovers including Balbinder singh Jamwal Secretary Samba Distt. Volleyball Association, Mulkhraj Raj Sharma Volleyball Coach, Ayisha Tabasum Volleyball Coach JKSC graced the function.
Sidharth Daluja President VAJK recalled the contribution of Prof. Achyuta Samanta for promotion of sports in general and volleyball in particular besides his benevolent services to the society as President VFI as well as founder of AOG.
