JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP), Dr S.P Vaid on Friday stressed the need for making better use of advanced technology for provide round-the-clock services to the public.
DGP said this after launching a website www.suvidhajkpolice.in at Police Control Room (PCR) here.
The website is an initiative by PCR Jammu to provide updates to the citizens about various policing related activities, advisories and National Highway status.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vaid said the comprehensive website and mobile application will prove helpful for public to get insight on various policing related activities and important information regarding missing children. He further said the website would facilitate the people to get ready information about the police related data compiled at one location for easy access. People can also get to know status of National Highway prior to start of their journey, he stressed.
SSP, PCR Ashor Sharma, ADsGP, VK Singh and Dilbag Singh, IsGP,Yoginder Koul, Alok Puri, Surinder Kumar Gupta, S.L Sharma, Jagjit Kumar and JP Singh, SSP APCR, Sham Sunder, SP, Vinod Kumar, Addl. SP (PCR), R.P Singh, SP, Telecom, DP Singh and other police officers were present in the programme.
