Vaid sanctions assistance for martyrs’ children, says their schooling our priority

JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P Vaid said that Jammu and Kashmir Police, braving all odds, has faced the challenge of terrorism and succeeded to prevail rule of law in the State after giving supreme sacrifices.
“Violence badly affected the living of the families of our martyrs especially the children and the organization feels it’s responsibility to provide a succour to these in their schooling,” he said.
Dr. Vaid was sanctioning free scholarship for the martyr’s wards studying in different classes in Police Public School Jammu.
“The martyrs sacrificed their precious lives at the altar of their duty and safeguarded integrity of the nation,” he said adding that JKP has a great responsibility to assist the families of these martyrs, who have been affected by the violence in the State.
DGP disclosed that the free scholarship has been provided out of Central Police Education Fund to meet the expenses on purchase of books, stationery and uniform items.
He said that various welfare initiatives have been taken to provide a helping hand in the form of financial assistance to these families. Scholarships are provided to their wards so that they could continue their studies and excel in different fields of life.
Besides, free education is provided to them in Police Public Schools with free hospital facilities at Srinagar and Jammu, he added.
The beneficiaries include Mohammad Quadir, Sabia Bano, Saqib Ahmad, Vashika Jamwa, Mohammad Muneer, Aqib Ahmad, Anshveer Singh, Aditya Jamwal, Saraswati Devi, Abdul Shami, Palvinder Kour, Mohammad Kabi, Asad Mehmood, Azhar Mehmood, Asha Devi, Nikhil Singh, Avneet Kour, Rounet Kour and Jaskaran Singh.
Dr. Vaid also sanctioned special reward of Rs.10,000 in favour of seven wards of serving police personnel for qualifying competitive examinations conducted by BOPEE during the year 2016. These beneficiaries include Talveen Kour Sudan, Junaid Ibrahim, Janvi Jasrotia, Farsheena Manzoor, Shehla Nazir, Diksha Bhat and Menakshi.
