JAMMU: The Special Judge NIA, Jammu and Kashmir Kishore Kumar on Friday granted 15 days judicial remand of Faisal Hussain Awan, 20, son of Gul Akbar, resident of Village Podha Jhandgra, Muzaffarabad (PoK) and Ahsan Khursheed, 19, son of Chaudhary Khursheed, resident of Village Khaliana, Khurd, Muzaffarabad (PoK) who were arrested by the NIA in Uri attack case wherein 20 army personnel were martyred.
The NIA sleuths produced Faisal and Ahsan before the Court and sought police remand for their being involved in Uri attack case.
The Court, after perusal of the CD file, observed that that accused were arrested in case RC-14/2016/NIA/DLI of PS NIA, New Delhi for offences under sections 302, 307, 124 (A) and 120-B, 121, 121-A of RPC and Section 7/27 Arms Act and 15/16 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 1967. Perusal of the CD file further revealed that both the above mentioned suspects are the members of terrorist organisation ‘JeM’ based in Pakistan and both of them working for said organisation to wage war against the Government of India. “Investigation of the case is at its initial stage and their custodial interrogation is needed to unearth the larger conspiracy against the Nation hatched by the terrorist outfit JeM and other over ground supporters”, the NIA pleaded.
