KATHUA: To review the progress on updating of ration card records, District Development Commissioner Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal chaired a meeting of officers on Thursday.
ADDC Kathua, SDM Hiranagar, SDM Basohli, SDM Billawar, SDM Bani, ACR Kathua, ACD Kathua, AD CAPD, Tehsildars, BDOs and TSOs were present in the meeting. The DC took review of the progress made under Ration Card Gram Sabha held in rural areas and Ward Sabha in the municipal limits in all blocks with the aim of verification and authentication of BPL/APL families for 100 per cent coverage of families under targeted public distribution of ration.
The DC Kathua directed AD CAPD and TSOs of all Tehsils to update and furnish the records after proper verification. He gave strict directions to all the TSOs to exclude the names of persons who do not fall in the category of BPL. He further directed BDOs and Tehsildars to include names of genuine cases under BPL/APL and furnish the report of additional families for proper update.
DDC further laid stress on early completion of verification and authentication of BPL/APL and directed the BDOs and TSOs to work in coordination for the completion of updating process.
