University of Jammu signs MoU with ICSI

JAMMU: In a landmark decision, University of Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) under the initiative of Department of Commerce.
The objective of the MoU is to impart knowledge and hone the skills of students, academicians and professionals of both the institutions. The MoU would facilitate a comprehensive partnership in the areas of joint academic research, joint workshops, professional development & faculty development programmes along with sharing of resources and participation in conferences, workshops and seminars.
Under the collaboration, the toppers of specific programmes will be awarded with ICSI Signature Award – Gold Medal and a scholarship to pursue the Company Secretary Course.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar University of Jammu and ICSI President CS Ashish Garg in the presence of Vice Chancellor, Professor Manoj Dhar.
Emphasising on the need for such collaborations, CS Ashish Garg, President ICSI, said “This undertaking would not just help in fostering the relationship between the two partner institutes but would also promote professional development of students”.
Sharing his happiness on the University of Jammu joining hands with ICSI, University Vice-Chancellor Professor Manoj Dhar remarked that this collaboration will not only help in developing the skills of the stakeholders through enhanced academic initiatives but will also bring new opportunities for them. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia appreciated the initiative for collaborative work.
Prof Hardeep Chahal welcomed the dignitaries while Dr Jeevan Jyoti Gupta presented a vote of thanks on the occasion.
The programme witnessed the presence of AK Srivastava (Academic Director India Level), CS Palak Arora (ChairPerson Jammu Chapter ICSI), CS Shivani Gupta(Jammu Past Chairman), CS Vikram Gupta (Council Member), CS Sagar Mehra (Council Member), Mr. Rishi Prakash Singh (Jammu Executive Head), Prof. Prikshat Singh Manhas (SHTM); Dr. Tarsem Lal (Department of Commerce), and Dr. Sunil Kumar (Department of Commerce).
