Union Secy reviews functioning of Animal Husbandry deptt

JAMMU: Secretary to Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Govt. of India, Ashok Kumar Angurana on Friday reviewed the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes under Animal husbandry sector.

He assured assistance for adoption of indigenous breed of Sahiwal in the Division because of its better adaptability to the environmental conditions. He also assured assistance for building required infrastructure like embryo transfer technology facilities, stock assistance training institute and frozen semen processing lab.

He advised for taking up the program gradually step by step to achieve the set goals.

The Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. S.L Bhagat requested for assistance to deal with occurrence of glanders disease in equines at Katra, assistance to treat Animal being injured in cross border firing and inclusion of Jammu division in FMD control programme.

The meeting was also attended by   Chief Executive Officer Livestock Development Board Dr. S.K. Abrol, Chief Executive Officer JKMPCL, Joint Directors and other senior officers of the department.
