UNION BUDGET 2024-25: WHAT STAKEHOLDERS SAY

Deepak Gupta, Warehouse President
This Budget will benefit the youth, women, unemployed and others. The Modi Government has focused on the overall growth in every sector.
The Union Budget has been designed, keeping in mind the welfare of every citizen of the country.

Sangeeta Gupta, Homemaker
First of all, I am filled with immense joy, witnessing women empowerment exemplified at the center, especially with the re-induction of Nirmala Sitaraman as the Finance Minister of the country. She has made history by becoming the first minister to present Budget seven times in row. Such achievements are truly inspiring for women everywhere. Moreover, the Budget promises numerous initiatives aimed at welfare of women and youth. The decline in the prices of gold and silver is also reassuring. I am happy with the government’s efforts.

Ravi Singh Bhav, President Border Area, Kisan Committee
This year’s Budget seems to be more effective compared to previous ones, presented by the government. The thing that I found the most impressive was the comprehensive consideration of all segments of society, ranging from farmers, children and youth to the economically challenged. Various schemes and policies have been laid out for everyone.
I am optimistic that the taxes we pay will reach back to us in the form of welfare initiatives and reforms by the government.

Rahul, Businessman
As the owner of an electronics shop, I am contended with the Budget proposal. The major development in terms of electronics has been reduction in the prices of hardware and mobile phones. However, a rise in the pricing of SIM cards and recharge plans is somewhat offsetting despite relief in the phone pricing. But, this will help in the increase in sales, and can be seen as beneficial from the economic standpoint.

Sanjay Gupta, President Vyapar Mandal Vikram Chowk Jammu
The government has done some good things, but not entirely. Regarding the items that have become cheaper due to government policies, we do not benefit at all. We cannot afford to buy gold or silver. Those who have money can buy them. The common public is not seeing any benefit in this budget, especially as there is nothing significant for them in it. In my opinion, the budget is neither good nor bad, just okay.

Dr. Parneesh Mahajan, Convenor Department of Training, BJP, J&K
We appreciate the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Dr. Nirmala Sitharaman, highlighting comprehensive vision for inclusive development. The Budget will significantly impact India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation. The emphasis of the Budget on infrastructure development, substantial allocations for highways, railways and ports will prove to be game changer in these sectors. The investment is poised to enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and improve the ease of doing business, thereby attracting more investments into the country. The Budget lays strong focus on the agricultural sector, which includes increased funding aimed at modernizing farming practices and ensuring better price realization for farmers.
