Dear editor,
The unemployment problem in UT of J&K among youth is a matter of concern. The PM package for Kashmiri Hindu migrants announced in the year 2008 got delayed because of shoddy handling of recruitment process. We are thankful to LG and his team of officers for getting it completed. Compulsion of few job opportunities and deteriorating quality of life are turning KP youth to other parts of country. This latest exudes leaves behind elderly couples and locked houses. A walk in a migrant colony enclave paints a grim picture. For political parties, their voters have gone out. Migration is a double edged sword. It leaves both sides maimed. The parents who with a heavy heart and earnest hope in their eyes that they will return to their nests and kids who leave under compulsion of better future. The colourless and gloomy days of migration will remain etched in their memory. KP’s have been silent sufferers for all these 33 years and therefore, there has to be a way forward as KPs are not expected to live in exile in their own country till eternity.
