POONCH: Unemployed youth who were desirous to do LoC trade staged a protest against the District administration for not registering them by blocking cross LoC bus service for half an hour.
The protest was led by Sanjeev Sharma, Nishu Sharma and Imtiaz Salaria. They were raising slogans against Custodian LoC Trade ad DDC Poonch. They said that few influential traders are playing repeated tricks and do not want others to involve in promoting trade.
The weekly cross-LoC bus service also remained suspended during the protest. SHO Police Station Poonch Jitender Raina reached the spot and assured the protestors that their concern would be taken up with the administration officials.
Sanjeev Sharama, a trader, said, “Few vested interest want to control the whole trade and doesn’t want unemployed youth to take part in it and we are not going to let this happen”. Another youth Nishal Sharma said, “We give three days ultimatum to administration to register all firms, failure of which they will stage a protest”. They also shouted slogans against DDC Poonch and Custodian LoC Trade and alleged that both the officers are hand in glove with influential traders.
