UK’s fattest man, weighing 412 kg, dies

London: A man in the UK, who weighed an astonishing 412 kg and was dubbed Britain’s fattest man, has died at the young age of 33.

Carl Thompson, who used to consume around 10,000 calories a day, died at his home in Kent yesterday.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to recover Thompson’s body from his home, an operation which took several hours.

“Officers do not believe the death to be suspicious. The coroner will be notified,” a police spokesman said.

Thompson made headlines earlier this year after he said his excessive binge eating had caused his weight to rocket to 412 kg.

He was inundated with offers to help him lose weight.

Doctors had warned that there is a risk to his life unless he made efforts to shed at least 285 kg, ‘kentonline.co.uk’ reported.

Thompson, who had been housebound for more than 12 months, had appealed for help to get down to his ideal weight of 76 kg.

“Any professional opinion or other knowledge would be great. I’ve had a lot of that coming in anyway but the more the better,” he said.
