UDHAMPUR: Peer Baba Akhara Roun Domail bagged the overall championship while Choprashop Akhara remained runners-up in the day-long district championship, organised by District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association at Peer Baba Akhara, Roun Domail, here.
Over 32 wrestlers took part in this competition held in five different weight categories under the supervision of District President, Virender Sharma. Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat was Chief Guest, who presented medals and certificates to the winner wrestlers.
Treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function while retired Headmaster and social worker, Parshotam Singh and Advocate, Sanjeev Kumar were Guests of Honour.
Also present were Bansi Lal Tidyal, Varinder Sharma, Dharm Singh and Mulk Raj Sharma.
Bouts were officiated by the technical panel comprising Vijay Singh (Viju), Dheeraj Kumar, Chand Singh, Rajinder Singh (Sonu), Pankaj Sadhotra, Laxman Singh Kotoch, Om Parkash Verma, Deepak Anand and Satish Kumar.
Detailed resutls: 55 kg: Dalbir Singh (Bainsta), Ist; Sunil Singh (Pinged), 2nd and Joginder Singh (Ritti), 3rd. 61 kg: Anayat Ali (Ringal), Ist; Neeraj Sharma (Sarmoli), 2nd and Sunil Kumar (Chaprashop), 3rd. 67 kg: Darshan Sharma (Jandrah), Ist; Sahil Singh (Panchari), 2nd and Nazir Mohd (Gudhar), 3rd. 75 kg: Salman Khan (Choprashop), Ist; Arif Khan 9Bhatyari (2nd) and Yasir Khan (Ringal), 3rd. 85 kg: Ajay Kumar (Laden Power House), Ist and Gopal Sharma (Roun Domail), 2nd .
