Udhampur station renamed as ‘Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan’ railway station

Jammu: In a solemn tribute to the indomitable spirit and sacrifice of Army Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, the Government of India on Thursday officially renamed the Udhampur Railway Station after him.
In 2016, Captain Tushar Mahajan (Shaurya Chakra), exhibited extraordinary courage and unwavering dedication to their duty and laid down his lives at Pampore defending the country during an act of heroism in the line of duty.
MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, shared the news on X and posted,” #Janmashtmi Gesture for #UDHAMPUR Thanks PM Shri @NarendraModi ji. In response to our request, the Government of India has approved the naming of Udhampur Railway Station as “Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Railway Station”. A communication to this effect has been sent to the UT Government of #JammuAndKashmir to formally issue the required Gazette notification.”
The central government gave approval to rename the Udhampur Railway station as ‘Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan railway station’ on September 7.
