REASI: District Udhampur made it a double title win in under-14 and under-19 categories while Samba bagged the under-19 trophy in the two-day inter-district Divisional level girls’ Kho-Kho Tournament held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium, here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Romesh Chander was Chief Guest while Mohinder Sharma was Special Guest in the valedictory function of the event.
Speaking to the gathering, the Chief Guest urged upon the personnel of Physical Education Department that it was their first and foremost duty to go for talent hunt at the very grass-root level and then groom them to their fullest potential.
Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi, Dr Swaran Singh Chib briefed the distinguished gathering that six teams from Jammu province took part in this competition.
The official panel in this meet comprised Narayan Singh, Ashnak Sharma, Balwan Singh, Romesh Chander, Harpreet Kour, Goutam Kundal and Mohd Riaz.
Earlier, in the finals, Udhampur defeated hosts Reasi in both under-14 and under-17 age groups while Samba trounced their counterparts from district Kathua 7-4 to claim the trophy.
