UDHAMPUR: Girls of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Udhampur won twin titles in the ongoing three-day District Level under-19 Tournament (Boys & Girls) in the disciplines volleyball, kabbadi and kho-kho gets underway at Subash Stadium Udhampur, on Monday.
The tournament was declared opened by Chief Guest, Rakesh Singh Jamwal, Joint Director Planning Udhampur. Seva Singh (retd.) SP and Ram Paul Choudary (retd.) District Project Officer Udhampur was the Guests of Honour.
On first day, about 133 girls drawn from ten institutions of district Udhampur took part in the tournament.
The Chief Guest stressed upon the participants to take more part in sports activities to make them physically and mentally fit in the society. He also congratulated ad the members of the organizing committee for the smooth and successful conduct of the tournament.
The Tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Aggarwal and under the supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Sukhdev Singh and Activity incharges, Poonam Sharma.
Girls of (GHSS) Udhampur defeated HSS Garni by 25 points in kabaddi and HSS Garhi by one point in kho-kho. HSS Ramnagar defeated HSS Garhi in volleyball 2-0 (25-08, 25-15)
All the matches were officiated Raj Kumar, Neelam Kumari and Valshnoo Devi and Raman Kumar.
Other who present on the occasion were Ram Lal Badyal ZPEO, Usha Bhatt ZPEO, Santosh Kumari, Deepika Mannas, Som Dev, Naveen Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar.
