JAMMU: Two people were killed and four others got injured in separate road accidents across Jammu region.
“An old man died when he was crushed to death in Arnas area of Reasi district,” police here said.
Police said that a man identified as Chanday Ram, 65, resident of Dharmari, Arnas died this afternoon after crushed by the bus while alighting.
“He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed,” police added.
The driver namely Sher Mohammad has been taken into custody, police said.
In another incident, a motorcyclist was hit by a truck in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district.
According to a report, Dharam Singh (25) son of Prem Singh residents of Agli Dhaar Kathua died on the spot when his motorcycle (JK02AN-0511) on way from Jammu to Kathua was hit by a speedy truck (JK02AM-0357) on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Patli Morh (Bari-Brahmana). Bari-Brahmana Police led by SHO Mahesh Sharma reached the spot and took the body under custody. “The driver of the vehicle identified as Nirvesh Singh son of Mohiner Singh resident of Bishnah has been arrested and a case vide FIR No143/2017 under section 279 /304A has been registered against him”, SHO Mahesh Sharma said adding that the truck was also seized. However, four persons got injured in a road accident near Patoli area in the outskirts of Jammu city on Jammu- Akhnoor road this morning. Police said that accident occurred when speedily driven car collided with a bike and matador. “Condition of one of the injured is said be critical,” they added.
