Two Jammu boys in Asian handball team

JAMMU: Two ace handball players from Jammu have found berth in the Indian Handball team which has landed in the Incheon city of South Korea to take part in the 17th Asian Games beginning from 19th September.

Both these young and promising boys, Nitin Kumar Sharma and Neeraj Singh have a brief service with the Territorial Army (TA). While Nitin Kumar has already earned a name at the national level while guarding the net, Neeraj has proved his abilities in both attack and defence in the field.
The parents of Nitin and Neeraj and senior players as also friends were happy back home over their selection for the prestigious event. “Such opportunities come once in life time for a sportsperson, so we are happy for both these young boys,” said former international handball player, Chandan Singh Chowhan.
“The J and K has a history of producing international stuff in the shape of long serving former India Captain, Ranjit Singh, Baljinder Singh and Coach, Arun Kumar Sharma,” said another international player, Sanjeev Jamwal.
Both these former players wished Nitin and Neeraj success in the Asian Games.
