DODA/UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 37 pouches and 15 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession at Doda and Udhampur.
DySP Hqrs Doda, Iftkhar Ahmed said that on an information about a person selling illicit liquor in a Dhaba at Tundwah area, we constituted a team led by SHO Doda Manjeet Singh, who raided the Dhaba.
“During search of the Dhaba, 37 pouches of illicit liquor was recovered and the owner was arrested,” DySP added.
The accused who has been identified as Mukesh Kumar Son of Puran Singh Resident of Dharafda Bhalla, was nabbed on a tip off.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No 257/2017 under section 48-A Excise Act against the accused at Police Station Doda and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police seized 15 bottles of illicit liquor at Panchari, Udhampur.
During Naka checking at Kaith Gali Panchari, Udhampur a party of Police Station Panchari led by Inspr. Pushapjeet Singh under the supervision of Shakeel Rehman Bhat Dy.Sp DAR, DPL Udhampur intercepted one person at Kaith Gali Panchari, and during search 15 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He was identified as Shankar Singh son of Paras Ram resident of Narore. He was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 11/2017 under section 48 A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Panchari.
