Two held with 61 pouches of liquor

BHADARWAH/REASI: In two different cases police on Wednesday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 61 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession at Bhadarwah and Reasi.
According to reports, on a specific information, a police party from Bhadarwah Police Station led by SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Sambyal under the supervision of SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas, ASP Bhadarwah Sargun Shukla and SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajad Ahmed Khan intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds at Dandi while he was on way to Mathola.
On his search, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession. The accused identified as Swami Raj son of Bishan Dass resident of village Tapri in Mathola area of Bhadarwah was arrested and a case vide FIR No 01/17 under section 48A Excise Act was registered at Police Station Bhadarwah.
Meanwhile, a police party led by SI Gurvinder Singh, In-Charge Police Post Jyotipuram under the supervision of Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi during patrolling duty at Salal area, recovered 21 pouches of J and K Excise liquor, two bottles of rum and two bottles of whisky from the possession of Balwan Singh son of Chattar Singh resident of Salal Tehsil Reasi District Reasi who was on way from Reasi towards Salal for illegal sale of liquor at his native village. The accused person was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 01/2017 under section 48-A J and K Excise Act was registered at Police Station Reasi.
