KATHUA: Police on Friday arrested a trucker and his associate and recovered 180 kg poppy straw from the vehicle.
As per the details, a Naka was laid at Hamirpur NHW by SHO Police Station Rajbagh Insp Ajay Jamwal under the supervision of SDPO border Ravail Choudhary. During vehicle checking a truck bearing (Jk-03B/7191) coming from Srinagar was stopped and during checking police recovered eight bags of poppy straw weighing 180 Kg from the truck which was hidden along with apple boxes.
A case vide FIR No-265/2016 under section 8/15 NDPSAct registered and both driver of truck namely Nazir Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid and conductor of truck namely Shakir Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid residents of Pampore arrested.
