RAMBAN: Two persons were on Thursday arrested and around one and half kg cannabis was seized from them on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban District.
A Zylo bearing registration No JK02AX /3404 which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu was intercepted near Jawahar Tunnel area in Banihal belt of Ramban District and three packets of cannabis were recovered, police said.
Two persons in the car, identified as Deepak, son of Puran Chand, resident of Upper Beli Charana Jammu and Irshad, son of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, resident of Arihal Pulwama, were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 27/16 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Banihal. Arrests were made by Sub Inspector Mohammed Irfan Incharge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel.
