JAMMU: Pointing out that a new wave of rising militancy and turbulence in Kashmir in the aftermath of the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani creates fear psychoses among the minorities in Valley, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS), an youth organisation representing migrant Kashmiri Pandits, on Wednesday demanded from government to provide foolproof security to minorities in Valley and shift employees immediately to Jammu with their respective families till the normalcy is restored. “We being in constant touch with them can feel the insecurity of our brethren and fear psychosis,” President YAIKS, R.K Bhat said in a community interaction session held here on Wednesday.
Social, political and religious Pandit organisations in one voice strongly condemned the attack on Pandit colonies at Hall, Mattan and Vessu as well as the Pandit families putting up at various places in the Valley.
The employees, who are serving in Valley for the last six years and in particular the crucial time they are facing during the recent unrest in Valley, expressed how they had been attacked through stone pelting and abusive language.
“Some anti-social and anti-national elements are hell-bent and are trying always to disturb communal harmony in the Valley,” they said adding that the present scenario and disturbances in Kashmir Valley pose a new challenge for the minorities and in particular PM package employees.
The speakers gave their assessment, experience and understanding of the reasons for not realising a resolution to their problems once for all.
“The safety of these employees is no longer the concern of the community alone, it has assumed a much wider dimension which needs to be addressed early and immediately without further delay,” they said.
If any untoward happens with KP employees, they said, the State and the Central Government will solely be held responsible.
The community leaders who addressed the gathering include Prof A.N Sadhu, H.N Jattu (AIKPC) and B.L Saraf (Retd. Sesson Judge).
