Dear Editor,
Despite instructions to government teachers including lecturers not to indulge in tuitions, we see gatherings of students at several places in early mornings or late in the evenings getting tuitions at unexpected higher charges. It looks that we are living in such a country where there is no government as our concerned department has no interest in performing their duties honestly as are expected by public. There should be a legislation describing punishment or imprisonment with fine for defaulter government exmployees in teaching profession. Similarly over charging by private teaching institutions found violating minimum tuition fee fixed norms which should in no way exceed Rs 100 upto primary class, Rs 150 upto 8th and Rs 200 upto higher secondary classes should be punished. There should be a clear cut ban for government teaching staff not to undertake such extra assignment.
In modern India unless such reforms are legislated by government it is apprehended that poor people will continue to be looted by these qualified persons.
